Manager International Trade Commercial Banking

As Manager – International Trade Commercial Banking you will work closely with the Corporate Account Managers to identify business opportunities and advise clients on a full range of specialized international risk coverage solutions and services.

You will play an expert role in all aspects of international risk coverage products and services. You will be part of the larger National Bank Corporate team.

This position reports to the Associate Vice President – International Trade and is located in Toronto

You will be required to:

  • Identify business development opportunities among Commercial Banking clients for a complete line of specialized international trade finance solutions and services, letters of credit, letters of guarantee, documentary credit collections, international payments and international electronic solutions.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with potential clients in order to grow our client base.
  • Plan and carry out visibility activities to promote the Bank's international products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of international solutions and services, and remain up to date with market trends.
  • Support Commercial Banking managers in their work by identifying existing and potential clients' needs for international services and presenting them with services suited to their needs.
  • Along with Commercial Banking managers, negotiate the terms and conditions of agreements with new and existing clients for international products, making sure that they meet the desired profitability criteria.
  • Encourage clients to use the appropriate channels to make it easier to carry out their international transactions.
  • Listen to clients to evaluate their level of satisfaction and help retain them.
  • The candidate needs to be able to identify all risks inherent to the Personal and Commercial Banking sector’s activities.
  • Adopt a 360 degree vision to service all the clients’ needs with all the Bank’s business lines

Competencies required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR university certificate or undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in sales and business development
  • Knowledge of international operations and products
  • French an asset
