This group currently consists of professionals located in offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York and London.  The Investment Banking group at NBF has demonstrated considerable momentum over the last few years, experiencing record profits and strong growth in deal flow.

NBF is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst or Associate for its Global Mining & Metals Group (Toronto).

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and other written documents for clients
  • Performing detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis
  • Supporting transaction teams in the execution of financing and advisory assignments
  • Researching and analyzing public and private company financial statements
  • Performing industry research and analysis


  • 1-3 years of investment banking experience; Preference for prior involvement with mining and/or M&A
  • University degree(s) with a focus on business and/or mining; 
  • Professional accounting (CA, CPA) and/or CFA designation(s) considered an asset
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills
  • Keen interest in capital markets and the mining sector
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities, timelines and requests
  • Hard-working, enthusiastic and committed attitude with the ability to function as part of a team
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (particularly PowerPoint and Excel), Capital IQ and Bloomberg
