Senior Data Scientist – Wealth & Personal Compliance

This position reports to the Senior Manager – Compliance, Wealth Management and Personal Banking.

As a Data Scientist in Compliance, you will play a key role in the sector's transformation through the use of data analytics. You will also contribute to modelling regulatory risks for the oversight program.
More information about the role:
- Propose and implement analytical approaches to support strategies and increase your sector's efficiency and productivity
- Develop models for regulatory investment oversight for the 7 business lines in Wealth Management and Personal Banking.
- Address business issues and recommend solutions to accelerate the use of data and promote data science within the team
- Recover, manipulate, select, and process large amounts of complex data for advanced analytics in order to provide useful information for decision-making
- Create self-service dashboards and analytics tools in a fast-paced and challenging growth environment.
- Support the implementation of data environments for BI analysis and advanced analytics
- Conduct complex data mining and extraction in high-volume, structured and unstructured environments to respond to specific business initiatives
- Set up Compliance KPIs and KRIs for senior management in Risk Management and other business lines.
Required skills
- A completed bachelor’s degree in a related field and six years of relevant experience, or completed master's degree in a related field
- Experience in mining complex structured and unstructured data
- In-depth knowledge of SAS and SQL
- Excellent analytical and summarizing skills
- Functionally bilingual, spoken and written (English and French), as you will deal with partners (clients, service providers, consultants) across Canada
Preferred skills
- Good knowledge of Power BI, an asset
- Experience in model development, an asset
- Ability to present the results of your analyses in plain language
- Knowledge of the banking and wealth management sectors, an asset.
