As a senior analyst on the IFRS 9 and Credit Losses team, you will develop credit loss projection models, carry out complex and varied analyses, help improve our business practices and methodologies, and perform various large-scale assessments to provide relevant information for decision-making.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, IFRS 9 and Credit Losses in the Credit Analytics and Climate Risk sector.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Develop credit loss forecasting models and update methodologies in keeping with industry best practices and regulatory requirements 
  • Actively participate in loss simulation and reporting exercises in collaboration with all stakeholders (Risk, Business lines, Finance, and Economics)
  • Help establish a budget for credit losses and track them by reassessing projections based on achievements and trends 
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to solve complex problems as part of risk management for credit portfolios     
  • Maintain the various models and ensure their regular development in accordance with industry best practices
  • Participate in the design, development, and deployment of prioritized reports and dashboards, primarily using Microsoft Power BI, while respecting data visualization best practices
  • Produce and deliver high-quality presentations to management and business partners in order to influence how they manage risk for their portfolios



Skills required

  • Completed bachelor's degree, related to the sector of activity (economics, statistics, applied mathematics, quantitative finance), and 5 years of relevant experience or completed Master's degree, related to the sector of activity, and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing credit risk models.
  • Good knowledge of credit risk management.
  • Good knowledge of SAS and/or R and/or Python and/or SQL language.
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) French and functional English necessary, as you will be dealing with partners (customers, suppliers, consultants) located across Canada.
  • Be proactive and rigorous.

Preferred skills

  • Very high capacity for learning and adaptation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Very good communication and extension skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is desirable.
