Join the subsidiary accounting team within the large financial accounting team at the National Bank. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Accounting and Regulatory Reports, NBF.

Your main challenges:

  • Analyze and interpret financial data, explain discrepancies and ensure corrections are made.
  • Follow up and control accounting and financial operations and make sure they comply with existing policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders as part of joint projects.
  • Ensure the development, implementation, monitoring and control of work systems, tools, and processes, and make recommendations for optimizing the efficiency of operations and the quality of financial information.
  • Identify and analyze the needs of stakeholders in order to create work systems, tools and processes that respond to their needs and facilitate decision-making.

More specifically, you will:

  • Carry out the accounting for NBF’s NBIN business line
  • Conduct controls and analyze NBIN’s results
  • Support your partner, Financial Performance Management, Wealth Management, for this business line
  • Support the NBIN-Toronto accounting/billing team
  • Adapt work tools and analyses based on needs and new activities in this business line (such as the accounting system replacement project (VINCI))
  • Participate in various projects such as replacing the NBIN-Toronto (Lawson) billing system and replacing the Bank’s accounting systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience, OR master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • CPA accounting designation
  • Experience in accounting and analyzing results
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Smartstream, SAP, ISM and Lawson, an asset
  • Ability to meet deadlines, be rigorous and accountable
  • Be fully capable of adapting to change
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written), a must
