The CRS/FATCA/QI/QDD Expertise Center is currently looking for a Senior Analyst to support activities related to the FATCA and CRS compliance programs

Reporting to the Senior Manager CRS/FATCA/QI/QDD Tax Expertise Center, you must understand process-related business issues and support the business units regarding directions concerning FATCA/CRS regulations with the goal of reducing non-compliance risks.

What will your day-to-day tasks be?

  • As an expert, understand the business issues related to processes and support OI and WM business units in relation with CRS-FATCA regulations, to reduce the risk of non-compliance.
  • Help to ensure the development, implementation, monitoring and control of policies, procedures, systems, and tools to optimize the efficiency of the compliance programs.
  • Act as an expert to business units for questions, positioning and issues that they may encounter regarding compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out or participate in various projects and mandates with a significant impact on our business processes and those of our business partners in connection with required documentation.
  • Identify stakeholders' needs and suggest strategies by considering the varied nature of files to support the completion of activities.
  • Carry out complex analyses, studies, and research to promote adapted solutions and have a hand in optimizing work processes.

More specifically, you will:

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual reporting by ensuring the in-depth analysis of the declaration files and various monthly reports and ensure their delivery to Operations and Wealth Management business units in accordance with established service levels.
  • Raise questions and issues encountered and initiate the analyses to establish/ confirm the business rules of the IT solutions in place.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to situations raised by business units.
  • Ensure the updating of procedures and improvements of compliance processes to enhance the employee experience and meet current and future needs.
  • Contribute to develop and improvement of analysis tools and controls.
  • Identify and assess the impacts of regulatory changes on processes and raise potential risks.
  • Contribute to the sharing of information and the updating of the CRS-FATCA communication site.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience, or undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US QI/FATCA/CRS laws and regulations
  • Experience in regulatory compliance management, an asset
  • Knowledge of investment/ brokerage operations and processes
  • Good team spirit, ability to collaborate effectively
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel (data comparison and analysis functions)
  • Good knowledge of the various systems used at National Bank (e.g. OSS, ICOP, BO)
  • Good analytical skills and ability to summarize
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative and priorities
  • Written communication skills, in French and in English
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage risks
  • Propensity to offer an efficient service to the Bank's various partners
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) French and English
