This position reports to the Development and Client Experience Vice President in the Wealth Management.  The role consists essentially of ensuring the quality and understanding of the operations processes in order to make information available to the network.  The candidate must be rigorous, possess strong analytical skills and have proven experience in the financial field, specifically in the investment industry.

Specifically:

  • Have knowledge of portfolio management
  • Understand Securities Trading
  • Have a 360° view of an operational issue regarding:
    • Market events (REORG)
    • Transfer management
    • Validation and calculation of book values ACB)
    • Calculation of performance and returns
    • Know the rules of compliance and internal control

The main responsibilities are:

  • Accompany the network in understanding the operations
  • Prioritize work based on business values and risks
  • Compare, understand and validate data from various systems and applications
  • "B2B2C
  • Identify problematic situations of an operational nature related to both the processing of information and the applications used
  • Carry out various analyses (context, issues, impacts, functional, non-functional and informational, processes, business rules) to identify gaps between the current and the target situation
  • Ensure the reliability of data and provide appropriate solutions
  • Detect anomalies and submit them to the parties concerned (third party)
  • Advise the business lines and share solutions to improve current processes (if required)
  • Support the entire NBFWM network for a better understanding and implementation of the best business practices
  • Act as an expert, train/educate (financial literacy) in order to increase the knowledge of the network and help make them be self-sufficient in their daily practices

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree completed, related to the industry, and 7 years of relevant experience OR Completed master's degree, related to the business line, and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Portfolio management tools
  • Good ability to popularize and synthesize information
  • Ability to facilitate strategic discussions
  • Ability to participate in discussions as an expert in portfolio management applications
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) French and English essential

Preferred skills

  • Experience using OSS and Croesus and / or equivalent tools in portfolio management tools is required.
  • Basic knowledge of taxation or CRA rules will be considered an asset.
