The mission of the Real Estate Financing group is to support the best players in the real estate sector, both in their interim construction financing projects and in the long-term financing of quality assets.

This position reports to the Associate Vice-President, Real Estate Finance, Canada

Your main challenges:

  • Manage a team specialized in short-term and long-term real estate financing in the financing segment of more than $20 million. The large team is located in our main markets: Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax.
  • Maximize the impact of our financing for the BNC Group in the context of our sectoral limitations, diversification objectives and synergies
  • Achieve the expected financial contribution target for the sector, in line with the business plan, by communicating and identifying with your team the expected sales behaviors and activities
  • Ensure the achievement of the objectives of each account manager and support them in the identification of business opportunities among existing and prospective clients, in business development, the application of sales techniques, negotiation and the use of tools and processes developed by the Bank
  • Provide personalized "coaching" to account managers, with a view to developing their skills and supporting them in their career path
  • Ensure the hiring, development and performance management of your team members
  • Assume accountability for the customer experience and mobilize his team to increase market share and the quality of customer service
  • Act as an ambassador for National Bank in our core markets and foster relationships with key business partners.
  • Visit clients to establish a relationship with them and assess their satisfaction with the service received
  • Hold meetings on a regular basis in order to maintain the effort of your team and carry out regular and rigorous monitoring of development activities, results and portfolios in order to identify positive elements as well as opportunities for performance improvement
  • Act as a resource person during complex financing cases    
  • Resolve contentious cases and complex issues by implementing permanent corrective
  • Act as an expert to the Executive Committee under the management of the Associate Vice-President Real Estate Finance Canada and contribute to the Bank's strategic decisions to achieve profitability objectives and optimal risk management
  • Be aware for new developments in the market and economic trends
  • Participate in any project and mandate that has an impact on the efficiency, profitability and activities of the Bank

  • Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and 10 years of relevant experience or Completed master's degree, related to the business line, and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Significant experience in personnel management
  • Experience in stakeholder management, mainly with our internal/external partners
  • Experience in sales, business development and customer service
  • Coaching experience
  • Experience in change management
  • Expertise in commercial credit
  • Expertise in real estate financing, an asset
  • Good knowledge of business products
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) French and English
