As a Product Manager, Point of sales Retail lending at National Bank, you join the rapidly evolving Financing value chain and help ensure the success of the Personal Banking sector!

You will be responsible for the financing products distributed by our extensive network of dealers across Canada. Your objectives will include our portfolio growth while ensuring sound risk management.

Main responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert advisor on consumer financing for management and your peers
  • Manage and develop your product lines (strategic orientations, tactical plan, risk appetite framework, client/dealer/employee experience, lifecycle) and related processes
  • Assess the Bank’s competitive position in the consumer financing market and keep abreast of changes in the needs of clients and dealers
  • Propose improvements to products and prepare business cases to achieve higher profitability while respecting the Bank's risk appetite and assessing the impact on the Bank's operations
  • Participate in drafting approval requests for credit and operational risk committees and various executive committees
  • Oversee the planning, development, implementation, application and documentation of changes to products, policies and programs
  • Carry out price positioning for the products offered, in collaboration with pricing specialists
  • Monitor product performance (volumes, profits, losses) and make recommendations to improve profits and losses
  • Actively participate in the annual budget exercise, taking into account the economic outlook and trends in the consumer financing market

Competencies required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience OR university certificate/undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills: proven leadership skills, ability to influence others and negotiate, attention to detail, creativity and innovation 
  • Ability to work on multiple simultaneous mandates involving many stakeholders
  • Outstanding financial analysis and retail credit skills; an asset
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of consumer financing, especially point of sales financing, an asset
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
