This posting is for two separate positions: an automation-focused analyst and a development-focused analyst.  The latter requires advanced mastery of F5 solutions.

Description

Reporting to the Manager, IT Telecommunications Management, you will act as senior analyst for managing network environments throughout the Bank. You will play a very important change and incident management role.


Specifically, your role in the team will be focussed on F5 solutions. You will:

  • Design, plan and implement F5 devices using the best practices for F5 solutions while considering other aspects, such as security.
  • Configure and maintain encryption elements of F5 networks, including crypto profiles, identification, certificate validation, and other tasks.
  • Develop F5 iRules
  • Be an expert on F5 (GTM/LTM/ASM) and its technologies and coach the group to increase their knowledge of this technology.
  • Test F5 configurations in Lab environments to ensure that they meet our requirements (performance, flexibility, resilience, availability, security, etc.).
  • Set up reusable templates and write scripts to facilitate and automate configuration, task management, the rollout of applications and services, and the migration of configurations accross development, test and production environments.

Specifically, your role in the team will be focussed on automation. You will:

  • Make certain network information available via APIs so that it can be used by other teams.
  • Identify and automate existing processes to reduce implementation time or increase implementation quality
  • Participate in needs analysis to implement the elements required for end-to-end process automation
  • Produce adequate documentation that meets the standards in place for each program/script
  • Participate in the development of other resources to make them autonomous

For both positions:

  • Diagnose problem situations and help resolve complex issues by ensuring the implementation of permanent corrective measures from a continuous improvement perspective
  • Analyze change requests related to the network infrastructure, assess the impact on existing applications, and suggest and carry out the appropriate changes
  • Monitor the availability of network services, follow up on incidents/problems, and analyze causes to define the appropriate corrective measures to apply
  • Ensure that network infrastructure policies and standards are developed, implemented, updated and followed
  • Understand business issues, identify stakeholders’ network infrastructure needs, and propose technological solutions in order to support the completion of stakeholder activities
  • Conduct various complex analyses, identify discrepancies, and make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve major problems
  • Provide management with all the information needed to influence orientations and strategies related to the network infrastructure


  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 7 years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of F5 Big-IP (LTM/GTM/APM/ASM)
  • In-depth knowledge of programming languages for automation (Python)
  • Sound knowledge of development concepts
  • Solid problem resolution experience in a Cisco environment
  • Very good knowledge of network technologies (Switch, Router, Firewall, DNS)
  • Knowledge of network tools (Wireshark, Zabbix, etc.)
  • Experience in the financial services sector an asset
  • Excellent ability to work in complex environments and grasp complex technological concepts
  • F5-CTS, LTM certification an asset
  • CCNP certification an asset
  • ITIL certification an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence and interact with various stakeholders (technical experts, senior management, etc.)
  • Verbal and writing communication skills
  • Independent and results-oriented
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
