The position of Manager, Institutional Services will provide the challenges you seek!

National Bank Trust’s institutional client service offers business solutions to various levels of government and public sectors as well as enterprises of all sizes. We have built up solid expertise in dealing with pension plans, investment companies, foundations, mutual funds, government agencies, financial institutions and religious communities.

Over the past two years, National Bank Trust has prioritized a technology upgrade project to benefit our clients. This large-scale project is aimed at improving the services offered to our clients and portfolio managers by providing them access to Global Office—a new accessible and intuitive digital platform. A progressive migration has already begun and all of our clients should have access to this platform by next year. This project involves several key stakeholders including the Advisor, Institutional Services.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Institutional Services, the Manager, Institutional Services acts as a trusted professional to clients and provides quality service and support that is tailored to clients’ needs.

Your main challenges:

  • Identify and develop business opportunities in your market and increase your safekeeping and institutional asset management clientele
  • Help your clients attain their business objectives by proposing financial strategies based on the most suitable combination of Bank products and services
  • Ensure your visibility and the Bank’s visibility through social involvement in your community and with various organizations and professional associations
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about clients’ markets (stakeholders, competitors, types of clients)
  • Ensure that portfolio quality is maintained while maximizing growth and profitability
  • Meet clients’ changing needs by maintaining regular contact with them
  • Ensure the rigorous follow-up of portfolios under management
  • Represent our clients’ needs to our internal partners
  • Monitor cash management

More specifically, for managers responsible for external clients:

  • Identify and develop business opportunities in your market and increase your safekeeping and institutional asset management clientele

More specifically, for managers responsible for internal clients:

  • Have the ability to influence clients and stakeholders to help them achieve their business plan, including making structural changes and replacing portfolio managers.
  • Be able to work under the Bank's organizational structure and collaborate with various internal partners at the forefront of service delivery and client experience


Qualifications:

  • Depending on your academic background, at least five to nine years of experience in business development and sales in the institutional asset management sector
  • Bachelor’s degree and seven years of experience
  • Master’s degree and five years of experience
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation
  • Experience in sales and business development
  • Established network of professional contacts among institutional clients
  • Knowledge of institutional services, safekeeping and institutional asset management, an asset
  • Have a sense of priorities that maximize business value for clients and the organization
  • Bilingualism, French and English (spoken and written)
