NBF Wealth Management is seeking an Investment Product Senior Manager whose role is to lead a team of experts responsible for the due diligence of investment products made available to investment advisors for the benefit of retail clients. This is an opportunity for a seasoned executive, preferably with a large IIROC brokerage firm, to work with the NBF WM team on an impressive and growing platform. Characteristics such as innovation, dynamism and energy are essential to succeed in this key role.
The position consists of promoting the growth and development of the organization while protecting the interests of clients, advisors and the firm through mitigating measures. The chosen candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of service and collaboration while establishing the winning controls and conditions.
More specifically, its role consists of:
- Responsible for the entire investment product offering of NBF WM and CEBN.
- Voting member of the "New Issues Committee" with the Financial Markets.
- Lead the team of experts and participate in the assessment and drafting of risk reports.
- Responsible for product training with the network advisors.
- Subject matter expert for the executive team for all issues related to product risk management.
- Develop and maintain an attractive and competitive offer of services and products.
- Create and implement policies and guidelines on winning conditions.
- Responsible for setting objectives and evaluating direct reports.
- Act as a mentor and coach to the team's experts.
- Oversee analyses, risk ratings and distribution conditions.
- Act as an investment product expert.
- Respond on an ad hoc basis to requests for the addition of products from the IA’s.
- Develop relationships of trust between internal and external manufacturers.
- Collaborate with the discretionary management team, chair the new products committee, sit on the portfolio manager selection and oversight committees, Underwritting, WMPARC, FMPARC, on the BNI portfolio management committee.
Competencies required
- Bachelor's degree related to the sector of activity and 10 years of relevant experience or Master's degree related to the sector of activity and 8 years of relevant experience or CFA and/or CAIA and 6 years of relevant experience
- Significant experience in team management
- In-depth knowledge of IIAC regulations and compliance issues
- Experience working in project and process management
- Excellent knowledge of all activities in the Wealth Management sector
- Inquisitive mind, curious, investigator, Concerned about excellence
- Seeks collaborative and constructive working relationships with direct reports and other departments.
- Excellent ability to influence.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English required because you will regularly deal with Investment advisors partners across Canada
