We are recruiting interns for the winter and summer of 2022 and our office is located in Montreal.

A bank's Treasury department is like the bank's own banker, and plays a central role. It handles the bank's cash flow. National Bank's Treasury department is subdivided into two groups: 

  • The Global Funding and Treasury group finances the Bank's investments in the markets and makes investments, primarily in liquid assets.
  • The Treasury Risk Management group is mandated to calculate, oversee and manage the main treasury risks, namely interest rate risk and liquidity risk.

This team is on the lookout for talented young people!

The Treasury Risk Management group hires interns in four sub-groups:

  • Interest rate risk management
  • Funds transfer pricing
  • Pension fund risk management
  • Liquidity risk management

Where do you fit in?

  • Are you currently studying finance, computational mathematics, financial engineering, actuarial science or a related field? 
  • Are you interested in risk management?
  • Are you known for your rigour and willingness to learn? 

Join a team of around 20 treasury risk management professionals where you will be called upon to help the Bank grow and define the practices of tomorrow. Among other things, you will help build tools to monitor treasury risks and support the first line of defence in its trading activities when it comes to investment and financing.

As an intern in Treasury Risk Management, you will:  

  • Develop tools to monitor liquidity or interest rate risk
  • Optimize existing tools 
  • Bring in new perspectives and help your team grow 
  • Advance production and development processes and techniques 
  • Work in a trading room and experience that environment
