Intern - Treasury Analytics

We are recruiting interns for the winter and summer of 2022 and our office is located in Montreal.

A bank's Treasury department is like the bank's own banker and plays a central role. It handles the bank's cash flow. National Bank's Treasury department is subdivided into two groups: 

  • The Global Funding and Treasury group finances the Bank's investments in the markets and makes investments, primarily in liquid assets.
  • The Treasury Risk Management group is mandated to calculate, oversee and manage the main treasury risks, namely interest rate risk and liquidity risk.

This team is on the lookout for talented young people!

The Treasury Analytics team is part of the Treasury Risk Management group. It's responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure and automated tools for tracking interest rate, liquidity and internal pricing risks.

As an intern in Treasury Analytics, you will:  

  • Optimize risk monitoring processes (interest rate and internal pricing risks)
  • Improve existing infrastructures and develop new ones 
  • Understand and apply bank treasury concepts
  • Bring in new perspectives and help your team grow 
  • Work in a trading room and experience that environment 

You're the ideal candidate if:  

  • You're interested in finance, computer science, data and math
  • You enjoy dabbling in databases
  • You're a versatile programmer who is fluent in VBA, SQL, R/Python and Web languages (JavaScript, PHP, React, etc.)
