This position reports to the Senior Manager, Data Management Practice and is part of the larger CDO team.  The team is currently implementing a corporate data catalogue (the chosen tool is Collibra) that will centralize knowledge of our data, its metadata and its uses.  In this context, we are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our dynamic and data-driven team.

Your main responsibilities will specifically be to:

  • Support stakeholders in the application of data and metadata documentation and the general use of the catalogue
  • Actively partner with identified stakeholders/business groups (and project manager) to set up a pilot 
  • Handle requests (based on defined priorities), gather feedback from stakeholders to improve the product, make recommendations and provide requirements for the evolution of corporate data catalogue 
  • Support the product owner (PO) and the team (PM, analyst, IT resources, etc.) as part of the project (participate in the definition of the product backlog, acceptance criteria, ceremonies (daily scrum, grooming, planning, etc.), risk and issues management, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the data management practice
  • Influence stakeholders to apply data management practices

Target profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience OR university certificate/undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate innovation, autonomy, proactivity and good organizational/planning skills
  • Experience in managing and influencing stakeholders (planning, organizing workshops, gathering needs, etc.)
  • Experience as a business analyst (an asset)
  • Experience and knowledge in data management and/or governance
  • Experience with data catalogues, preferably Collibra (an asset)
  • Experience in project execution/management in Agile mode (scrum, kanban, backlog, etc.)
  • Knowledge of business sectors and their activities (desirable)
  • Oral and written communication, ability to explain/synthesize
  • Collaboration and teamwork with multidisciplinary experts
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
